WEEK 5: 6 Word Poster Assignment

Image
This week I finished up my concept and put it into Illustrator. I then worked on what type of background colors I wanted (black or white) and I decided to make two versions of it because I really enjoyed both. Overall I think what I came up with turned out very cool and unique. Hope you enjoy! (the red "line" was created by the letter "I"). The topic I chose was "Racism."

Week 4: Sketches for the 6 Word Poster Project

Image
For this week, I had to pick two topics for the 6 Word Poster project we started and make sketches for both topics. I picked Racism and Human Rights because I personally think these are the most important to talk about. A lot of my friends and family members (being different races) have been attacked by acts of racism of some kind and with everything going on right now I think it's the best time to exclaim how important it is to have equality and change for the better. The second topic, being Human Rights, was picked because I feel as if we lost more freedom over the years and we've been under control but not in control as a nation. I hope you enjoy my rough sketches and if you have any feedback of any sort, please give me it! (Sorry in advance if the pictures didn't come out clear...issues with focusing)

Anatomy of Letters Assignment

Image
This week we needed to search for certain fonts that had specific serifs, stresses, bowls, apexes, spurs and terminals. The fonts I picked were from my Font Book on the MacBook Pro.  Pointed Serif Canela Vertical Stress Cochin Biased Stress Brush Script MT (originally on DaFont) Open Bowl Herculanum Extended Apex Copperplate Hollowed Apex Big Caslon Hollowed Vertex Zapfino Spur Domaine Display Sheared Terminal Big Caslon Acute Terminal Baskerville

COMPRESSION/REPETITION (REVISED)

For the revised version of this project, I added bars in order to show the compression of the word. Instead of using addition and adding more the word (making it confusing if it was repetition) I changed the word to repetition and made it more interesting and readable.

Week 3: Alignment Project

Image
For this assignment, I wanted to keep the alignments pretty close together and formal. For the flushed left portion, It goes from long to short, except for the end where I try to keep most of the text equal or close to one another. For the flushed right part, I attempted to do what I did previously so when you have them side by side it adds a cool little design. For the centered part of the project, I tried to make some kinda accordion style to it, which I would say was the most successful out of the 4. Finally, for the justified right text, I attempted to make very line even with the same spacing in the paragraphs (note: that the spacing is different per paragraph but within the paragraph it should be pretty close).
